The time has come......

So, I have decided to take a little break from designing. It is a decision that I really struggled to make, but in the end decided that it is the right one for me. At least at this point in time.

I have gotten to know some amazing people, and made some wonderful friends over the last 3 years and want to thank them for all that they have taught me during that time. Thank you also to all that supported me!

All Girls Weekend, Little Nashville (aka Gnaw Bone, lol) Indiana

So we headed out Friday morning on the all girls trip to Brown County Indiana. We hit the road about 11:30 and as you can see below, Bunny and Sis were both really excited!

We checked in to our hotel about 3pm,

and went up stairs to check out the room…..

Look at the size of that bed!

yes, that IS a fire place!

and although you can’t see it, there is a spa bath in that there bathroom! Whoo hoo! Ok maybe it is worth paying the extra $40/night!

We skipped lunch while we were travelling, so decided to go eat early, and just for something different, had mexican. And mmmmmmm, was it good?!?!?

By the time we got back to the room after dinner, the sunset was just beautiful, so whipped out the camera and snapped a few of the sunset and the view…

Next morning, headed off to shop till we dropped! Some shots from around town….

The queen bee and her lil honey bee posing for a picture….. Ain’t they cute!?!?! LOL

We went for a ride/tour around town on this little train, and it was sooooo cold! The wind was blowing a gail just about the whole time! I was warm though….. someone was smart enough to remember their jacket unlike someone else *clearsthroatbunnycough*

LOL

And here is Forte, isn’t he beautiful?!?! He took us for a 20 minute carriage ride…

and when we got back, Sis got to fed him a treat…… and get slobbered on too! LOL

And after a long hard day of walking and shopping, this is how I finished it off………

ahhhhhh…. heaven!

Out and about in the USA

Hi everyone! Well I thought I would give you all a little update on what has been going on while I've been here in the US.
Bunny has been taking me all over the place, and we have been worn out!
Here we are are the infamous 'Hell'-mart! Really it wasn't that bad, and we ended up spending less than she normally would, so maybe I'm a good shopping influence! LOL

For Bunny's special day on Friday, we went out for a girls day!
We got our nails done......

And we went out for lunch at Bunny's favourite place to eat, ElBracero's

It was so funny,we were half way through eating when all the little mexican waiters come out singing and carrying a bowl of icecream, which they then proceeded to smear all over her face!!!
She was clapping and cheering like a 6 year old!

And then I got a turn with the hat....

LOL
And then Bunny insisted we document just how full you get eating at this place. This is me, about to be sick cause I've eaten so much food!

LOL

Then Saturday we decided we were going to cut and colour Bunny's hair.

Yesterday we decided to go for a drive around and see what we could see.

Tomorrow we are heading out to the 'big city' to gettin a little more shopping, should be a good day!

Yippe-i-a! But let me tell you, that was one LOOOOOONG time on a plane! LOL, I thought would never end!
Well at least it wasn't as scary as I imagined! I didn't miss the plane, get on the wrong plane or even forget to get off the plane and end up in Alaska! Hahahaha. I did however, have a small drama. Would you believe.... they lost my suit case!?! So I was all ready to be wearing Bunny's clothes, but they found it and sent it on up here the very next day! YAY!

.....and I'm starting to get really nervous! See the countdown widget over there----> not long to go now!! I'm starting to panic a little I think, subconciously anyway.....
I dreamt last night that 1- I missed the plane, 2- I got on the wrong plane, 3- I got sick and couldn't go! I wonder which one is it going to be???? LOL
In fact, what worries me more is navagating my way through LAX! Isn't it one of the hugest most busiest airports in the world?? I keep telling my it's going to be fine, but every now and again I have a little worry attack, LOL.

We spent the lovely spring afternoon at my PIL's, the kids played and enjoyed the sunshine!

Silly Billy came hobling in the door from school last week, telling me she didn't think she would be able to go to dancing. Upon closer inspection, I discover these two huge lumps. Now, I'm no expert, but they definately didn't look like they should be there, so off we went to have it x-rayed. Turns out, no fracture, but plenty of soft tissue damage, and will need regular physiotherapy if there is any chance she can go in the dance concert this year!

No matter how great the trip away, is it's always good to be home, don't you think? LOL

We had a fabulous time at Mallacoota, it is such a pretty place! Aside from one day nearly being blown away, (and I mean literally..... we made a mad dash for home after a tree nearly fell on the car, due to the 70kph winds, only to find complete strangers standing in out campsite trying to save all out stuff!!!) the weather was beautiful, and much warmer than it is suppossed to be for this time of year! Although I didn't get too many photo's this time ( my good camera is broken ) I did manage to snap a few happy snaps.

So it's been a while since I've updated, and certain people, who shall remain nameless, (*coughBunnycoughLiviacough* hehehehehe) are giving me a hard time about it! LOL
I knew it had been a while, but I didn't realise it had beena month!!! Man, where does all the time go??? AND another thing I want to know.... where is all this free time I was going to have once the kids were ALL finally at school?!?!? I pictured my days all to myself, shopping, socialising, watching soapy's on my favourite couch, (yes..... the one that puts me to sleep all the time!)and maybe doing a bit of a tidy up every now and then. Let's just say, I haven't had time to scratch myself, well so far anyway!

April is nearly here! April is a great month for more reasons than one this year. Not only is it my birthday YAY!! (No, we don;t need to talk about how old I am actually turning!) I am also featured designer of the month at DSO!

Hi Y'all!
It's so good to be home! We arrived home early Sat morning after driving all night (left 9:30 Fri night) and have spent two days either catching up on sleep or unpacking. That's the worst bit of coming home after holidays, I hate unpacking....ugh!! We had a fabulous time up north, it was humid and green, neither of which we are used to down here in Canberra.

I took hundreds of pics while we were away, but I won't bore you with all of them, here are just a few.....

The Honey Place at Urunga. They have all sorts of different flavoured honey, my favourite is the coffee flavoured honey, mmmmm, great on toast!

We visited the butterfly house, where they have up to 11 different species flying around at any one time! The kids had a ball, the butterflies would just fly right up and land on you....

A REAL Hibiscus. LOL. Don't often see thse around home, too cold :(

What's a trip to the north coast without a visit to the Big Banana.

The Pet Porpoise Pool was fantastic! The dolphins were absolutley amazing!

Well, now it's down from my cloud and back to the land of reality. The kids start back at school next week, so I have to get all their stuff ready, that's gonna be fun!

CHRISTMAS!!! Whoo hoo! I'm really excited this year! For once I am actually organised and I can relax and look forward to it for a change. Usually I am out there with every man and his dog doing the last minute Christmas shopping. UGH. That's just not fun! I made the decision this year to be done by Dec 1st, well, I didn't quite make it, but I was done with 2 weeks to spare! YAY me! LOL. I'm also trying to think about our camping trip to Valla resort. We are camping for two whole weeks, but al least this time we will have power and running water! It's a nine hour drive for us, so we are planning on leaving in the wee hours so that the kids will *hopefully* sleep most of the way. Nine hours in the car with 5 kids, could be interesting to say the least.

Bunny had a little photography challenge for us today on her blog. The challenge was to take 5 photo's on the first things that jumped out at you. Well, my photography skills need a little work, but here are my 5 pics....

DSO is starting an EZINE and we're looking for layouts featuring DSO Product. The Dec call will end Dec 20th, we are looking for WINTER themed layouts or Hybrid projects.

Layouts must include a complete supply list, and must contain primarily DSO product.

Deadline for Dec Winter submissions is DEC 20th, 2008.

Holey cow! Does that really say DECEMBER up there? Where DOES the time go? Well, if your house is anything like ours, you will be starting to gear up for Christmas!! We put up our Christmas tree today and some decorations around the house! The kids were all dancing around to the Christmas CD's we traditionally have playing in the background. They pretty much did it all by themsleves too. All except the bead strands (didn't want them to get all tangled up LOL) and the star on the top. That's Daddy's job. They did a pretty good job don't you think?.....

OMG! What a wonderful place Fiji is! We will definately be going back, and taking the kids this time. Contrary to Bunny's opinion, (LOL) I haven't been on holidays in Fiji all this time...unfortunatley, I'm just a slacker!

Camping is so much fun!!!

Well, we arrived home from our camping trip yesterday afternoon, dripping wet I might add!! As it turns out, it wasn't the critters I need to look out for, it was the weather! Rained steadily the first night, but everything managed to stay dry, but then poured all morning, 7 of us huddled under our 3m x 3m gazebo with our camp kitchen set up was quite cozy!! Eventually it stopped raining, and the kids went of to play. The wind also decided to make an appearance, so there was dust and leaves and smoke going everywhere!! We did get to toast our marshmallows on the fire, which the kids thought was fantastic, (poor deprived children! LOL)
After that it rained a little on and off but nothing too bad until Monday, pack up day. The day started out beautifully, so we took our time packing up, then the big black clouds rolled in. We managed to get everything packed up except the tent, and that is when the skies opened!! The kids all stayed dry cause we left gazebo up for them to sit under, but DH, DD1 and I got DRENCHED!! And then, wouldn't you know it, almost as soon as we had it in the car, it stopped and the sun came out!!! ARRRGGGHHHH!!
We went on a 6km bush walk on Sunday, and let me just say, my legs are now reliving every step. LOL

It's good to be home, but now I have the dreaded unpack and wash EVERYTHING. With a campfire, it all smells like smoke, so it all has to get washed whether it was actually worn or not!! FUN, FUN, FUN!!! UGH

Man I hate the cold......

....and boy is it getting cold here in the land of Down Under!! I had to go out and buy everyone new flanellette PJ's the other day...a sure sign that winter is on it's way *sigh*. The heater is just about running full ball, and the clothes dryer is definately getting a work out.... more because I'm too much of a woos to go out in the cold to hang the washing, than the fact it wouldn't dry. LOL

Well as the weather cools down here, May means it is warming up for all my friends in the Northern Hemisphere. May also means a whole bunch of new things happening in the scrapping world!
This weekend is National (can we say inter-national??? lol) Scrapbooking day, and what better way to celebrate, than with a sale?? Oh What a Beautiful Morning......

oh what a Beautiful Day!! Isn't that how the song goes? LOL. Well it isn't actually a beautiful day here at all today...it's raining. But we so badly need the rain so I shouldn't complain.
I woke up to the most amazing sight this morning though. I've opened my eyes and there is this weird kind of orange glow coming in through the cracks in the curtians, I'm thinking "Oh my god!?!?! What an earth is that?!?!?!? (the last time I saw an orange glow like that, the whole city was on fire!) SO I've jumped out of bed and it was the weirdest sight! The sun was coming up in the east, but the light was reflecting on the rain clouds in the west, hence the orange glow. But onver on the hill was the most vivid rainbow I've ever seen!! By the time I ran around in the half dark trying to find my camera, it had faded a bit, but I did manage to get a couple of snapshots.....

Maybe it's a sign? Today is DH's b'day afterall!

I'm sure the years seem to be going faster and faster, can you beleive it's April already?? Wasn't Christmas just yesterday? LOL

Wanna see what we've been doin'? Well, while my friends in the Northern Hemisphere are freezin thier butts off, we are happily baskin' in the summer sunshine! The kids spent hours in the pool on the weekend, they were like dried up shrivled prunes by the time they got out!! lol...

We'd better enjoy it while we can, 'cause I've got a feeling it will all be coming to an end very soon, today is cold and miserable and rainy. I shouldn't complain, we need the rain, after all we are in drought!

I knew I hadn't blogged in a while, but I didn't realise it was over a month!! lol! I shouldn't laugh.... THAT'S TERRIBLE!!
We're still kind of in holiday mode here in the land of down under, well I am any way. Phil's only gone back to work last week, and the kids are still on school holidays, so that hasn't left me much 'free time' of late. We've been away camping and waterskiing, and generally just enjoying the summer weather out by the pool! I love summer.... and I HATE the cold....don't ask me then why we live in Canberra!?!?! Winter's here can get pretty cold, well by my standards anyway!!lol!
So the kids go back to school next week, (can't come soon enough if you ask me!!!) and the twins, my babies, are starting pre-school two days a week!! OMG!! Where has the time gone?!?!? Seems only yesterday they were babies, and now I'm getting them ready for school??? Holey cow, time just goes way too fast these days!

Let me show you my latest kit. I was having trouble finding me some mo-jo when all of a sudden it slapped me in the face and I came up with this....I call it Sweetie Pie, 'cause the soft colours remind me of my 3 year old, and that's what I call her...sweetie pie!!

lol....my kids had their dance concert last weeekend, 2 days 3 shows, needless to say we were all exhusted by Sunday night!! But they had so much fun, they always do, that it was well worth the effort!

My biggest, and my baby (well one half of them anyway!) .....

ain't they just adorable????? huh, huh? lol

SOOOO much work goes into getting them ready for this! The three older girls ahve always done it, but this was the first year that the twins were old enough to go in the concert. I wasn't going to put them in (it's not compulsary) but them I started to get an attack of the guilts, when all the other tiny tots mum's were talking about it and how exciting it would be, so, I relented...ugh! So, that meant that I had ALL five of them to get ready on both days!! lol...at least boys and litly's don't wear make-up!! But those curls on Erin's head...know how they got there??? She does have naturally curly hair, but not quite THAT curly!! Here's what we had to go through to have THOSE curls.....

ummmm....fun, fun, fun! NOT!! LOL!! Like I said, it was all worth it in the end!!

(just ignore the enormous mountain of washing on the lounge behind her, it's a busy time of year, who has time to fold the washing??? NOT ME!! lol)

After the last of the three performances, they had a presentation ceremony, where there were awards handed out, and my Caity won the one for Grade 1 ballet! She was so proud of herself!!

So dancing is now finished for the year, and we get a 6 week break over the school holidays and go back and do it all over again next year!!

OK, now can I show you another new product I have available just in time for Christmas? If you like alpha's then I hope you'll love this one..... it looks just like candy canes!!

How cute is that, even if I do say so myself!?!?! LOL!!!

Phew! Man am I glad school holidays are over!! LOL, don't get me wrong, I love my kids, but BOY are they alot of work!!! Trying to keep them entertained for two weeks is HARD WORK!! They went back to school on Monday, and now we are just settling back into the routine of school, pre-school, dance lessons, band paractice etc etc, you know how it goes! It was nice to have a break from it all, but it's nicer to be getting back into routine, I cope best with routine...LOL!!

This first one uses my Precious Moments kit. Love the way she has used the frame here, and isn't that paper placement just fantastic?

This one uses my Cherry Blossom kit, and is a gorgeous photo of her two kiddo's out enjoying the spring sunshine at the local flower show here in Canberra ( Donna and I only live 20 minutes apart!! )

And this last one is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE!! She has used my latest kit called "Chocoberry Creme". Isn't it simply stunning? Fabulous work Donna, you rock girl!! :)

Well, we had a great weekend! Saturday was Madie's b'day party. She's turning 7 on Friday, but we decided to have her party the weekend before her actual b'day, cause school finishes up for the term this friday, and I was worried all her friends would go away for the holidays, and she'd have no-one there!!

Saturday night, we had the annual school Trivia Night, and the theme this year was HATS!! OMG, what an absolute riot!! The effort that some people went to for this was amazing, not to mention hilarious!! Fabulous Fundraiser for the school, I think Phil is going to be busy this week, counting the funds raised!! (He's the school treasurer, yeah I know, as if he doesn't already have enough on his plate, he put his hand up for the job before he really thought about exactly what was involved!! LOL!!)

OK, on to some scrapping news....

So I get back on the computer this morning after having a bit of a 'weekend off', to find that I have been tagged again!! LOL, thanks Kris!! OK, so she wants me to tell her 6 things about myself, hmmm.....I'll probably bore you all to death, LOL!! Alrighty, here goes...

1. I love crocs!! You know those shoes? They are so great!! Everyone in my family has a pair, they are just so practical, and not to mention comfortable!! The first time I saw them I said, "OMG!! I am never wearing those fugly things!" But I admit it, I am a complete convert!! LOL

2. I hate housework! Just ask anyone that's been to my house...LOL! Only do it once it gets to the point where it's unbearable, or if someone is coming over, LOL!

3. I am currently on a misiion to loose some weight. Got down to a weight I was happy with this time last year, but wouldn't you know it, over winter (I'm in the southern hemisphere remember!) it all crept back on again!! AARRGGHHH, so easy to put back on, but such a PITA to get trid of!! So far I've lost about 2 1/2 kilo's which I thin is about 5 1/2 lbs since I started just under 2 weeks ago. Another 12lbs and I'll be a happy camper again! :)

4. I have a fear of moths! Not any other creep crawly's, just moth's for some reason! Spiders, ants, grasshoppers, beetles, anything else is fine, infact I am the one who catches and removes spiders from the house, but if there is a moth in the house, I run the other way!! They freak me out totally!!

5. I have never broken a bone anywhere in my body in my entire life. Came close a coule of times, and had a couple of dislocations and bad sparians, but never actually a break, touch wood!!

6. I would love to go on a cruise some day! We never actually got to have a HONEYMOON, bit hard with 3 kids (the twins weren't born then)so we went on a 'FAMILYMOON' instead! Spent a week down the south coast Phil, myself and the kids. Was a nice week away, but not really what you would call 'romantic'!! LOL!! I would love to one day, once the kids are older, go off on a cruise around the south Pacific or the Caribean just us....*sigh* one day!!

OK, now that I have bored you all to tears, you can wake up again!! WAKEY WAKEY!! LOL! Now I better go and tag 3 more people.....

Well, we had a great weekend!
Saturday I got a new computer!! Whoo hoo!! A friend of ours and my husband went off to the computer fair with the intention of getting me some more memory (no, not for my brain, although sometimes I wish that was possible!! lol!! )for the computer, and came back with a whole new tower!! Wowee! I have gone from 512MB of memeory to 2GB! Can't wait to get some more designing done, and see just how fast this thing can go now!!

Saturday night we went 'round to friends place, and had a great night just chatting and having a few, while the kids ( they have three, aswell as out five ) all played 'sing star' on Playstation and generally ran a muck!! Caitlin has a little bit of a crush on thier son, and it is so cute watching them play together! Madie is very posessive kinda personality, and Caitlin gets all cranky that she keeps trying to get Brandodn all to herself!! It's so funny to watch!! I don't remember this kind of thing with 'boys' until I was way older!! LOL!! Guess they start earlier with everything these days though!

Poor Caity, a sale, and some scrapping news.

Do you like my new look blog? I decided it was time for a bit of a face lift. The Banner is from Laura Deacitis's 'Bloggie Banners' (created by Nikki Beaudreau)from Sweet Shop design. Isn't it gorgeous?? Well, I think it is!! LOL!

Poor Caity. So this is how is started. Yesterday morning, I'm sitting here at my computer, after just spending the last hour and a half laughing myself silly (it was supposed to be a 'staff meeting for the DSO designers', but what hope is there of anything satying serious, when you have Kim and Kristine there?...LOL) when Caitlin comes out to me and says "Muuuuuum, (can you hear the whine there?) I just bumped my head." Now first let me say this, for some reason, my kids think that they need to tell me every single, little, tiny, incy, insignificant thing that happens to them all ( and let me remind you, that with 5 of them, it can sometimes seem never ending). So I say, "It'll be OK, just give it a rub" and proceed to give the back area of her head to which she was pointing, a rather vigourus rub. She heads off back down the hall, looking rather deflated at my lack of enthusiam, when all of a sudden I hear this blood curdly scream. "OMG, who's done what now" I shout. Caitlin appears in the doorway again, this time with blood all over her hand. "Look what's coming out of my heeeeead!!" It appears that indeed, she has bumped her head, and infact it probably was a 'real' bump this time. Great. So now I have guilt about the fact that I just dismissed her so easily, when she is trying to tell me she is hurt! It turns out that it is rather a small cut in her head, when she smacked it on the corner of her desk as she was trying to make her bed, but heads bleed alot and it freaked her out a little, just a little!
Lessons learnt from this little episode:
1. Perhaps pay a little more attention when your kids are trying to tell you something.
2. Buy soft corner protector thingy's for the corner of the desk.

Just in case you are wondering, she is fine this morning, and very proudly tells/ shows anyone she can about 'spliting her head open' LOL

I've been trying to find the time to get some little packs of 'things' up for ages!! Well, now that the horror month of July is over, I've finally gotten around to it!
